kindness and attention during a very severe attack of illness
from his landlady, Mrs. Sarah Loidoire, an elderly widow of
small property, he resolved to marry her and although she
remonstrated with him upon the impropriety of the step,
considering their great disparity of ages - he being in his
twenty-fifth, and she in her fifty-second year - the marriage
was concluded in 1752."
