I was checking out Family Tree Maker and tried to find Leander Kilpatrick again and came across your page. Leander married Emma Hensley Lindner. Emma's first husband, Frank Lindner, is buried in the plot with Emma's parents and next to her sister. Emma Hensley is sister to my grandmother, Alice Hensley Lipford. Someday I may tell you how I broke my finger on Frank's tombstone. Frank and Emma had 2 children and I believe that Leander and Emma had 5 more.
When Emma and Leander moved west, I can't remember if they went to Arizona or Missouri. Do you know? Two of their children, the twins, Ed and Elsie, came to New Jersey in the early 60's and took my mother with them on a research trip to Tennessee. At that time Ed and Elsie lived about 30 miles apart. One in Arkansas and the other in Missouri.
I lived in Ducktown, Tennessee, for a while and did a lot of research while I was there. Several of the Kilpatrick's married into the Hensley family. My grandfather, William Lipford, was a business partner to "A. J." Andrew Jackson Kilpatrick. They owned the general store and post office in Turtletown.
I have more on the Kilpatricks going back to the early 1700's. Glen Raper, of Turtletown, Tennessee, wrote a book on the Kilpatricks. It has a lot of errors, but it provides some good starting points for research.
